September 2019 Spin & Go / Expresso Recap

In September I spent a lot more time relaxing with family & friends than usual and didn’t spend as much of my spare time on poker than I did previously (even if volume already was horrible for a few months).
I can tell you that it just feels awesome! While I always looked at poker as my hobby it’s a lot more enjoyable if you actually treat it like one. And for once I ran over Expected Value!

In the last 2 days of the month I mass multi tabled the rest of my required monthly volume (500 Spins) on a limit I couldn’t care less about (5€ Expressos). It’s fun to play stacked tables and I intend to do more sessions like this in the future, maybe even going for the leaderboard once more!
Some people might ask why I’m bothering to play the 500 Spins a month – I’m a man of my word and if I sign a contract stating that I have to play 500 Spins I will do so, even though I know my stable wouldn’t pressure me if I would end up with less Tournaments for a few months.

Another really enjoyable thing that happend in September was my first private coaching with a mental game coach.
I actually always felt like the mental game is an edge I have over most of the competition anyways, but as it started to bug me to not win any money and my stable Smart Spin offering me a meetup with their mental game Coach, which just felt right at that Moment, I took the opportunity. I had a great talk not only about poker related things and while he confirmed that pretty much everything is allright with my attitude towards poker we still found a topic (developing psychological flexibility) we can work on in the future. So yeah, my stable confirmed that I can have coachings like that every month as long as it’s helping. So really looking forward to my next session!

In general I will keep the more relaxed approach towards poker. The only really negative result I see is that I won’t have alot of Spins / MTTs to write about on a monthly basis. Yet I hope you enjoyed my Poker journey so far and hopefully you still will with smaller samples to write about! I’m sure there will be a time when the volume increases automatically again!
